incredible illustrator for this book. She lives in Lacombe, Alberta. |

The year the book was
first published, my kindergarten class with a little help from their parents, surprised me
with a drama production, called Bibi and the Bull. That was the year we
built a huge paper maché bull. Can you see it inside the barn? (The barn is
our house centre that we decorated.) |

The second printing, done
in 1996, introduced a new cover design. The illustrator, Georgia Graham, thought it
made the book seem bigger. |

|
The third printing has
been done by Red Deer College Press and was re-released in February, 1999. |

to celebrate our re-launching of the new Bibi and the Bull. |

You probably noticed the difference in appearance
from the first to the following printings. |

Children think that the
story has been changed, but it is exactly the same story inside, even though the cover is
different. |

I have been asked to read
this story many times - I think people like to hear me bellow like the bull and scream
like Bibi! |

 |
Schools and libraries all
across Alberta have invited me to come and tell them about Bibi and the Bull.
I have so much fun meeting everyone! |

After I read Bibi and
the Bull, children always have stories to tell me! |

I like to tell the true
story of Bibi and the Bull. It is about my daughter, Krista, when she was
only 18 months old. She was playing in the sandbox when a bull got out and walked
over to her! I ran to try and save her, and Krista's Grandpa ran to try and save
her, but my little Krista just grabbed her little red toy rake and stood up and screamed
at him! The bull didn't jump up in the air, but he did turn around and walk back to
his pen. It was quite amazing because bulls are very dangerous. I don't think
he liked Krista's scream, though. You see, her scream was very high pitched and
loud! She wanted to be a fire engine when she grew up - that's how loud it was! |

In the book, Bibi and
the Bull, the bull is a Hereford bull, but in the true story, the bull was a black
Aberdeen Angus bull. |
